What do you think about SMS Text Messaging becomes FREE in the Philippines? Imagine, having to live a life, which have always been connected "via
text", where every ‘message sent’ is free? Wooh! Ang laking bawas na ito sa gastos lalo na ngayo’t nakakaranas ng kahirapan ang ating bansang Philippines!
This is a very good news to us, consumers. So here are some full story which I read from the internet:

State considers plan to make cellcos offer free SMS
The Filipino government is considering a plan to
force domestic cellular operators, which together currently carry more
than 1.39 billion SMS messages per day, to offer texting for free. The
Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza is quoted as saying: ‘Carriers
should only charge for voice calls because in their franchise, they
only pay for voice services. Text messaging is not really considered a
[basic] service and should be free.’ The department is expected to
submit a petition to the regulator, the National Telecommunications
Commission (NTC) calling on it to remove the charges on SMS messaging,
even though it acknowledges that such a move will prove controversial
and difficult to push through. However, Mendoza says something must be
done to address the situation whereby the Philippines has one of the
highest rates for mobile phone services in Asia.
House supports Mendoza’s call to make SMS/text messaging free.
House Speaker Prospero C. Nograles said yesterday that the House
of Representatives will review the congressional franchises of the
country’s mobile communications service providers in response to the
call of Transportation and Communication Secretary Leandro Mendoza to
make the short messaging system (SMS) or text messaging free.
Mr. Nograles said that he will ask the House Committee on
Legislative Franchises headed by Iloilo Rep. Ferjenel Biron, Committee
on Information and Communications Technology chaired by Catanduanes
Rep. Joseph Santiago and Oversight Committee headed by Quezon Rep.
Danilo Suarez to scrutinize the legislative franchises of the country’s
telecommunications companies engaged in mobile communications services
to find out if they really are allowed to charge their customers for
SMS usage.
"A habitual texter and is known to send his press statements and
media comments via SMS texting has become a necessity even among poor
Filipinos who rely on this technology for their day-to-day personal and
business communication requirement," Mr. Nograles said…

panalo.
kaso pag nangyare un, baka naman ma-pipi na mga tao sa pinas at mapudpud mga daliri nila! kasi puro text lang ang gagawin kasi libre..
e kapag sa text pa naman madalas hindi lang ung message ang shortcut, pati na din ung mismong thought ng message naka-cut..well..wala lang..nag react lang..

Kung sakali mang magkakatotoo to... sabog lahat ng telcos.
Congested na mga networks. Wooh! Magkakaroon na ng virus na katulad sa SUNCELL.
Oras na binibilang sa delayed na messages. Chappy lines sa call. Gudlak na makatawag ka pag peak hours.

nice post kage , kaninang umaga pinapanuod ko to, amp walang mgandang naibigay na sagot yung nainterview sa UMAGANG KAY GANDA yoko na imention yung name baka sumikat pa yung bobong yun!

ok sana kaso...
1. malulugi yung economiya ng bansa ^_^
2. mababawasan ng isang dahilan para hindi mo matext yung mga ayaw mo ma text
3. idadagdag malamang sa tax yung expenses ng kompanya ^_^ tapos magiging constant yung magiging income ng telecommunications company kaya ndi na din sila magkakainteres dun at magsisimula nalang ng karinderya o call center agency
at higit sa lahat...
4. mawawalan ng safety ang tao, dahil nga malamang na mag sara ang iba't ibang network at maging iisang united na telecommunication provider sila, magiging centralized ang information tungkol sa mga text na nirerecieve at pinapadala, maliban pa dun yung mga vital information na kasama ng text mo ay magiging centralized din... at ang ibig sabihin naman nun ay mas madaling mahahack ng mga hackers yun ^_^ dahil iisa nalang yung bank at mas madami na ngayon ang tumatarget dun ^_^

may karagdagang opinyon pa pala ako...
mas maganda kung wifi zone nalang ang buong pilipinas, kahit yung mga loob lang ng malls... para yung mga taong katulad ni elaine ay nageenjoy (yung mga may laptap)... bali hindi na magiging text messenger ang uso kundi pm's na ^_^ parang portable na chat ^_^

kaso madami ding draw back yung internet eh ^_^ mas madali pa nga atang i hack yun kasi airborne yung data ^_^ sabagay parehas lang sila ng text...
Bababaan nalang daw ang singil sa text by php .50
tas yung mga calls as much as php 5 per minute or whatever
pero sa sun... ndi problema yun ^^ minsan nga ndi pa nauubos ng isang buwan yung 5 hours... traffic lang talaga...

wag na lang free..

para masaya!

parang halos wala ding pinagkaiba un..
ang panget lang kasi, pag ganun, baka puro txt lang gawin ng mga tao..magkakaroon ng miscommunication..
well..
pero para sa isang taong kilala ko..mabuti un para sa kanya..
palagi kasing walang load un..
pero sa dota, madaming budget.
